Version: (using KDE 4.3.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Hello developers, I think it could be useful to show buddies' away messages somewhere in a text field, so I can copy them (and paste e.g. links in my browser). thanks, Jan
Hi, I agree with you. And I think it would be better to be able to directly click on links and see them open (instead of copy/paste them). Thanks, Mickaël
I'd also like to be able to click URLs in status message and copy text from it. I don't know about any way to visit such URLs other than manually retyping or googling them (or printscreen + OCR :-P) which is really terrible.
It would be extreme nice to have a feature to display the status message in a window which allows to copy the message. For example how psi does it (it would be for example inside the jabber "user info") Another extreme useful feature would be to log status messages. The reason is that many people started to use status messages as lightweight twitter replacement after pidgin made it really easy to use status messages.

I could not find a way to display status message in a way that allows it to be copied. Lots of people put there links to youtube videos, or some pictures. Kopete makes it useless. It would be nice to have clickable links, but even a possibility to simply copy status message and paste it in the browser would do.
There is actually a "junior job" for that: http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Kopete/JuniorJobs#Clickable_links_in_users_status_message Unfortunately it hasn't been done yet :/

Still without any changes... I saw the code of kopete...
http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=97552 a litle feature was added by me, but is still not enough, I will try to improve this fact
Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained. Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
