Version: (using KDE 4.3.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Gentoo Packages Rescaling is one of the most common things done to an image, and the choice of an appropriate algorithm makes a huge difference to the end result. Currently there is no choice as to which rescaling algorithm showFoto should use. What I would love to see, something that no other image editor I know of offers, is a more advanced "resize" dialog. It would offer not only a choice of the (many available) resizing algorithms, but it would also quickly compute a 100% crop of a selected part of the image using each algorithm. Often I end up wasting time trying out several different programs, including command line, in order to find an algorithm that will not rape my image once I downscale it. Don't think it makes a difference? Confirmed that the downscaling algorithm in digiKam-5.0.0 does a great job.
