Description Romain Henriet 2009-08-17 22:41:14 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

If desktop effects are enable when display suspends (only display, not the computer), I can't sometimes wake it up. Even Ctrl-Alt-Backspace has no effect. The only way is to use Magic Keys to reboot the computer. It happens about once out of four.
If desktop effects are disable, restoring the display works perfectly.
It may be due to ATI's proprietary drivers, but adding a checkbox in "suspend display" configuration, to allow disabling desktop effects just before suspending display, and then restoring them, would prevent problems for several people I think.

Driver bug.
