Version: 6 (using KDE 4.2.4) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Tried to apt-get install sun java-6, terminal stuck in loop for over an hour: says configuring sun java-6 in red on top of the screen with the common information and agreement terms below it. there is no exit, no place to agree and nothing else on the page. I can quit the terminal but then I cannot update anything, I get error: Unable to get exclusive lock This usually means that another package management application (like apt-get or aptitude) is already running. Please close that application first. How can you close something that is apparently running in a loop? Java -version returns: java version "1.6.0_0" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.4.1) (6b14-1.4.1-0ubuntu11) OpenJDK Server VM (build 14.0-b08, mixed mode) Running Kubuntu 9.04 with KDE 4.2.4 on a Dell Inspiron laptop model 1545.
HELP, please!
Hi, the KDE bug tracking system is not a place for getting basic user support, especially when (like in your case) is a problem specific of Ubuntu (your Linux distribution). Thus, you should better ask in the support tools of Ubuntu: - the Ubuntu forums: http://ubuntuforums.org - Launchpad: https://launchpad.net Thanks.
