Version: (using KDE 4.3.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Mandriva RPMs So... let me get this straight. Right-clicking on the desktop NO LONGER gives me the option to "configure the desktop"? ??? !!! "Add a widget", which I don't even WANT on the desktop IS included in the context-sensitive menu for the desktop, but "Configure Desktop" isn't?!?!?!?!?!?! How counter-intuitive is that? But no, rotating icons and widgets somehow got to the top of the list of "improvements" to make to the desktop manager, but "Configure Desktop" in the context-sensitive menu for the... DESKTOP... didn't get any of your attention? What bugs me is that you actually had to TAKE IT OUT for that bit of functionality to go away. You could have just left it alone, and it wouldn't have bothered anyone. I resent it. Now I have to go on a menu hunt in the kicker menu (because I absolutely won't use kickoff for anything) to CHANGE MY FREAKING SCREENSAVER. How did taking out "Configure Desktop" from the context-sensitive menu for the Desktop make KDE4 better? Well, the short answer is that it didn't. You INTENTIONALLY made it more difficult to configure the desktop. Do you even know what the phrase "context-sensitive menu" means? P.S. How do I remove that goddamned cashew from the desktop? If I wanted a Windows Sidebar... I'd install WINDOWS! I just wasted six hours installing PCLOS on my computer, and then installing KDE4.3 on it, to find out that you've gone to great effort to make the desktop manager LESS intuitive. And on top of that, I've wasted another half hour going through this bugzilla crap, so I could post a "wish" that you put something back into the desktop manager that you had no business removing from it in the first place! It's six o'clock in the freaking morning, and I'm supremely pissed. I can't stand gnome, and since THIS is the best that KDE has to offer, when I wake up later on today, I'm going to spend the rest of the day transferring my data to an NTFS partition, and then installing Windows back on my computer. Screw you for wasting my time. One last thing... why do I need to rotate an icon? Are you honestly going to try and convince me that you were getting a lot of requests for this "feature"?
Be quiet, please.
Anyway you can configure the desktop, there is a "desktop settings" entry on the menu. Moreover there should aready be a request to add the screensaver kcm to that dialog. This is not the right place to flame.
