Description Thomas Janssen 2009-08-13 22:43:50 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

If you add feeds to RSSnow (for example http://planet.fedoraproject.org/rss20.xml) and restart the plasmoid later. It loses all the added feeds. Was working with KDE 4.2.98.

How to reproduce:
Add some feed and restart RSSnow plasmoid

Expected Behaviour:
It keeps the feeds.
Comment 1 Christopher Stone 2009-08-13 22:55:51 UTC
I can confirm this. I just added three feeds and restarted the plasmoid and it went back to just the default kde news feed with all the other feeds I had just added gone. :(

I could reproduce the problem under KDE SC 4.3.4, but I would add that I experienced it with other widgets. Yawp looses my city, the picture frame looses my picture folder etc...

Therefore I think this bug is not only related to a specific widget, but more to the way they save their configuration.

I have the same problem with the Mail and the Quickaccess plasmoids in KDE SC 4.4 (RC3), both on an updated account (I didn't have this problem before) and on a new one: After logout an re-login the configs are set back to default.

"restart RSSnow plasmoid"

define "restart"; do you mean that you remove the rssnow plasmoid and then add it again?
Comment 5 Thomas Janssen 2010-05-14 09:42:59 UTC
Hello Aaron,

yes, close/remove the RSSnow plasmoid and add it immediately again to a workspace. Feeds are gone, except the default one.
Comment 6 Nicolas L. 2010-06-07 10:41:59 UTC
if i understand correctly, this is the wanted behaviour because the feed is added in plasma-desktop-appletsrc and it is removed when the applet is removed.
Comment 7 Beat Wolf 2010-06-07 10:43:21 UTC
this is indeed the wanted behaviour
