Description Jeffrey 2009-08-13 16:02:59 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

FolderView plasmoid widget asks to "Specify a folder: type a path or URL here". Being KDE, I would expect to be able to use KIOSlave URLs, but entering sftp://user@server:/path/to/whatever/ doesn't work, and I am shown my /home/username/ directory instead.

If I try to use the Folder Picker icon, I can pick the same SFTP address that Dolphin and other file pickers have a favorite (icon on the left) but it still doesn't load in FolderView.

folderview supports KIO (in fact, that's all it uses, even for local listings), and i just confirmed that sftp:// urls do work the same in folderview as in dolphin and the file dialog.

Very odd, it does work for me now, both at home and at work. It even prompts for a password without a key-auto-login, which is great. I seemed to have to click on my Dolphin "Places" shortcut more than once to get the full path to propagate the Folder/URI field, but it does work.

I apologize for the unnecessary report, and thanks again for making KDE so great to use!
