Description karaluh 2009-08-12 15:59:41 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I have two imap accounts, one is gmail and one hosted on ovh. the gmail one has propper folder structure, but the one on ovh has all folders (sent, drafts etc.) as subfolders of inbox. When I try to move the folders outside of inbox kmail crashes.

That's just a normal difference between IMAP servers and in general doesn't hurt. If you could give a backtrace of the crash, you'd help the developers fixing that though.

Yes, but it's confusing and annoys me. Plus Mailody displays the structure properly.

I know, I allready did that.

If I understand comment #1 correctly, this cannot be fixed by kmail because it is a matter of the IMAP server. Hope it is okay closing this.

I disagree. As I said, Mailody doesn't have that issue. Besides, somebody from kdepim team mentioned on the planet some time ago, that akonadi resources will woraround most common server bugs.

And to be clear, I know, that it's a server issue, not kmail one. The severity should probably be set to wishlist.

This should probably be reassigned from kmail to akonadi imap resource.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
