Version: (using KDE 4.3.0) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Facebook has a notifications api now which allows external applications to show facebook notifications. I think it would be very cool if KDE made use of it, so that KDE4 displays them in its native environment. For the Facebook notifications which can be displayed by an add-on in Firefox is one reason for still using Firefox. Plasma has an API to display any kind of notifications.. The thing you want is an (external) app that fetches the Facebook information and shows the notification using Plasma. So this is not a request for Plasma. Reassigning.
Is this API still relevant? Targeting Facebook's API is a moving target - seems like it might be deprecated per https://stackoverflow.com/a/31427496/4200039 - are you still interested m.wege@web.de? I think this type of wishlist should be marked WONTFIX - if someone is interested, they should just submit a patch to the relevant project. Might be possible with Telepathy or something.
