Version: (using KDE 4.3.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages If Dolphin needs to present the user with a dialog that contains a long path, the dialog is stretched out farther than either side of the display, making it impossible to make choice unless the dialog is moved. Here's an image of how this usability issue might look like: https://dl.getdropbox.com/u/175461/dolphin-ridiculously%20sized%20dialog.png I also filed this bug downstream: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dolphin/+bug/411598

Thanks for the report. Could you please let me know what you did before the dialog appeared? Did you drag & drop a file to a location with no write access? Usually Dolphin shows all error messages as part of the statusbar and I need to know how to reproduce the issue to fix it.

I had an audio CD in the drive. While exploring it I noticed that it had folders containing FLACs, OGGs, etc. (which is a real gem of a feature by the way!). I started copying over the FLACs to my hard drive but the CD must have been damaged. It repeatedly failed on one of the tracks with that dialog showing up.
