Version: 3.5.9 (using 3.5.10, Debian Package 4:3.5.10.dfsg.1-0lenny1 (lenny/sid)) Compiler: Target: x86_64-linux-gnu OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27.10-grsec-cz03 Chiasmus is a encryption standard developed by the German Federal Office for Information Security ("Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik"). The encrypted files usually have an extension of .xia and start with the three letters "XIA1". The (original) Debian bug report has a sample file attached for your reference. (see: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=540369) Currently the bubble pop up says "Unkown". The chiasmus keys are usually stored in a file with an extension of .xis and have the following header: XIS *** Aendern Sie diese Datei nicht direkt!! *** (i.e. two lines with those characters, the key itself starts in the next line) and are currently recogonized as "diff files". I confirmed these information with the developer of Chiasmus. For more information either see http://www.bsi.de/produkte/chiasmus/indexeng.htm with the english version or http://www.bsi.de/produkte/chiasmus/index.htm which also shows the Linux version but is only in German. A (German) wikipedia article is also available under http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiasmus_(Software) It would be kind if you could also forward this to konqueror in KDE4 (dolphin?) so that it can be verifed/fixed there as well.
The mimetype doesn't seem to be defined in the shared-mime-info database. Please file a request at http://www.freedesktop.org/Standards/AddingMIMETutor I'm closing this bug, but I can handle the freedesktop.org request once it exists, if you give me its number.
Thanks for your quick response. I filed the bug now in the upstream database given by you. You can find it under http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23255 Thanks for handling. If you need more information, do not hesitate to contact me. Helge P.S. Wouldn't it be more sensible to "couple" this bug to the upstream bug instead of closing it? This way the status would be more accurately described in this BTS as well (sorry, I don't know much about bugzilla if that is possible)
