Version: (using KDE 4.3.0) Installed from: SuSE RPMs Tested on openSuSE 11.0 & Arch Linux K Desktop Environment Version 4.3.00 (KDE 4.3.0) "release 152" Tested with Compiz-0.7.8-9.1 & Compiz-0.8.2 Testing with ATI fglrx driver on ATI RS690M Adapter, ATI 9600 and ATI X800 (also tested with NVidia 8600GT, 8800GT, and 9600GT) When kde4 starts I have the desktop configured with the Oxygen theme and everything starts OK. When compiz is started, the plasma panel changes to a light theme (I don't know if it's air or aya, but it very light). Screenshot: http://www.3111skyline.com/download/openSUSE_bugs/kde4/screenshots/plasma-panel-after-compiz-start.jpeg The only way to restore the correct theme to the plasma panel is to restart plasma-desktop with: #!/bin/bash kbuildsycoca4 kquitapp plasma-desktop >/dev/null 2>&1 kstart plasma-desktop & >/dev/null 2>&1 (some times you have to restart twice) After restarting plasma-panel, then the proper theme is restored to the panel. http://www.3111skyline.com/download/openSUSE_bugs/kde4/screenshots/plasma-panel-after-compiz-plasma-restart.jpeg Something is broken somewhere...

It is still oxygen, but it looks like the panel has lost the transparency.

(In reply to comment #2) > It is still oxygen, but it looks like the panel has lost the transparency. Ahah, that makes sense. It seems the panel is the only think losing transparency because all of the other desktop widgets retain their correct look.
