Description Hanno 2009-08-09 13:10:10 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

a very useful feature for digikam would be to be able to hide images in the database to ensure privacy.

Usecase: You have some private pictures that you don't like to show to anyone. You open Digikam to show some holiday pictures and your guest accidental see your private pictures while browsing through your database.

Idea: Tag the private pictures with 'private'. These images are not shown any longer in the database. Ideally your pictures would also be hidden in the file system, but that is optional. digikam has a menu option to unhide private pictures after typing in a password. The pictures are no unhidden until you press hide again or you close digikam.

This seems to be a duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150531 (Hidden tag to password-protect particular pictures). Could you check if that's the same as your wish?
