Description arne anka 2009-08-08 18:33:02 UTC
Version: unknown (using 4.3.00 (KDE 4.3.0), Debian packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.29.4

firstly, i have no clue if this is the correct app -- the thing itself is called "Application Launcher", a nme the droplist of the "report bug" does not know (like so many other) and "plasma/widget-kickoff" seems to be the cloesest available.

once the panel widgets are locked he app launcher's context menu does not offer "switch to ... menu style" (but the still the menu editor).
i don't see any connection between locking the widgtes (which means not moving or removing, but still configuration) and disabling the visual configuration of the app launche, ie switching style.

When plasma is locked, the plasmoids (widgets) are locked too: them can only be used. Switching the menu type remove the current menu (kickoff) and substitute it with another plasmoid (the classic menu).

This is the right behaviour.

P.s: The component is right :-)

if these are two different _plasmoids_ the name "style" is misleading.
"switch to ... menu plasmoid/widget" immediately would make clear, why it is locked when widgets are locked.

Maybe the word "Style" should be "style" (lowercase) or changed to "plasmoid" or simply removed?
