Description rerxrerx 2009-08-07 19:45:22 UTC
Version: 4.3.0 (using KDE 4.3.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

It can occur that one wants to merge two contacts that are filed under different names, i.e. "Joe" from the mobile phone and "Joe Smith" from the mail client. Currently one of the two names is picked for the merged contact without asking the user for any confirmation, the other is discarded. In the example the user typically would prefer to keep the full name, but he can't be sure which one will be taken.

I'd prefer to see a dialog box with a listing of all the names asking the user which one to keep.

Thank you for your efforts you put into this bug. kab3 has long been deprecated, and so I close its old reports. If this bug/wish is still valid for kab3's successor kaddressbook in any recent version (5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08.0 or later), please file a new bug against kaddressbook.
