Version: (using KDE 4.3.0) OS: Linux When I place a pager applet on the desktop, with 4x4 desktop layout, the pager is not roughly rectangular, but has some slack space (see fig. 1). Since the resize button preserves ratio unless ctrl is pressed, this is a highly unintuitive thing. Fig. 1: ,----------------. |o o o o | |o o o o <---- slack space |o o o o | |o o o o <--------- 4x4 desktop miniatures `----------------'
I encountered this, too, with a 4x3 layout. And being a recent immigrant from fvwm2, I didn't know about using ctrl with the resizer to get back the right apsect ratio until I read the report from Michal Svoboda above. He's right that this aspect ratio problem is "a highly unintuitive thing". I'm running 4.3 on Fedora 11.
Duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=214647? Did not know about the ctrl+resize thing before reading this report, so I'm happy I did. Kubuntu 9.10, backported 4.3.3 packages.

Do you reproduce with kde 4.4.4 or 4.5 beta ?
(In reply to comment #4) > Do you reproduce with kde 4.4.4 or 4.5 beta ? Unfortunately I abandoned pursuing this issue already, but since the steps to reproduce are quite clear, feel free to try yourself.
