Description David Rankin 2009-08-06 20:50:41 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

In the new konsole, when you right-click over a url, you are presented with the option to "Open Browser Here" with the dolphin icon shown. See screenshot:

http://www.3111skyline.com/download/openSUSE_bugs/kde4/screenshots/konsole-open-browser.jpeg

But instead of opening the dolphin browser at the url, another konsole window is opened. It certainly doesn't open dolphin... Let me know if you need more information. Thanks.

The 'Here' in Open Browser Here refers to the current location of the program running in Konsole. It is visible whether or not you are right-clicking on a URL. The URL-specific actions are at the top of the menu ("Open Link", "Copy Link Address")

I am open to suggestions for a less ambiguous way of naming the menu item to make this clearer.

If the action doesn't open Dolphin, that may be a bug - although it depends on your setup. Can you try running:

xdg-open "file://$PWD"

And see if that opens the current directory in Dolphin?

The 'Open Browser Here' has been changed to 'Open File Manager'. I don't know why another Konsole would open though.

It now opens Dolphin as it should. I suggest renaming to "Open Current Directory in File Manager" or something similar that makes it clear exactly what will be opened. Better yet, when rightclicking on a URL, just disable this item.

The issue is the text width; your example would be way to wide. I have thought about changing the menu when you right-click over an url.
