Version: (using KDE 4.3.0) Compiler: gcc version 4.3.2 (Gentoo 4.3.2-r3 p1.6, pie-10.1.5) -march=k8-sse3 -O2 -pipe OS: Linux Installed from: Gentoo Packages Sometimes when I try to restart or halt the system by the option on menu, KDE just logout and goes back to KDM login screen. By now, I just can't find a pattern for this bug. It seems to occur randomly.
- Which option/way do you use to select "Shutdown" or "Reboot" ? The menu, the Plasma desktop right click, the Lock&Logout widget ? Thanks
I always reboot / shutdown by menu (Lancelot). But I have tried some times and I couldn't reproduce this bug. Let me continue trying, if I see this bug again I'll comment. Thanks.
Now I think I got it. In my case, if I execute a command to shutdown or restart the system and close the laptop LID before KDE exits, then it just log off.
- What are the actions configured for "closing the LID" on: SystemSettings/Advanced-tab/Power management/Edit profiles ? Thanks
For the profile I'm using (Performance), it is configured to Suspend to RAM when the LID is closed.
I think this has been already fixed, at least I remember a k-c-d discussion.
Yes, I can confirm, it was fixed. I'm using KDE 4.3.3 and I couldn't reproduce this bug anymore. Thanks for the answers!
