Description Martin Steigerwald 2009-08-06 20:34:47 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Kontact is running almost all of the time my notebook is switched on. I switch between different components of it often.

With Korganizer from KDE 3 I could edit journal entries inline. Thus I could write something into a journal entry, switch to mail, and then go back to edit my journal entry again.

Also whenever I edited a journal entry, Korganizer automatically applied my change.

Now when I want to do the above workflow, I have to do the following.

- Open the entry edit window
- Edit the entry
- Switch to mail or somewhere else
- Close the entry cause the window of it overlaps my mail view or something else and I can't minimize the entry edit window
- Go back to journal again
- Open the edit window for the entry again

Also when I want to edit an entry I also have to open to open it again and also to remember to close it again to apply the changes.

My previous workflow was much more efficient. Thus I'd like the ability to edit an journal entry inline back. ;)

Please consider it as IMHO it improves usability.

I have another reason for inline editing together with autosave. I lost my changes to a journal entry as Kontact crashed while I was editing one (see bug #203773)
