Description Markus Elfring 2009-08-06 17:50:09 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

I would like to present an use case as a follow-up for the issue "It's not possible to resize the 'name' column" (bug #165374).

I dragged the right delimiter in the table header on the column "Name" a bit to make it wider. The pressed mouse button was accidentally interpreted as a double-click. The usual reaction for this table control is to set the "optimal" width.

A couple of long commands are also displayed as process names. Now I find it hard to narrow it back after it was expanded to the maximum.

I suggest to add an entry (with a keyboard shortcut) in the context menu of each column to toggle this behaviour. Would you like to support easier switching between optimal and default width?

ksysguard is no longer maintained, in Plasma 6 there is the Plasma system monitor for this task.

If your wish is still valid for the Plasma 6 replacement, please re-open and we can move this bug to the new product, thanks!
