Description jan 2009-08-06 13:30:05 UTC
Version: 0.9.svn1007025-83.1 (using KDE 4.3.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

The Network Manager applet in the system tray only shows my ethernet port. None of the options for wireless connections are displayed. The applet worked fine using 4.3 RC3.The KDE Network Management Control Modules shows all wireless connections. Scanning for wireless access points works and shows the map of access points.

Packages are taken from the openSUSE repository KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop.

See https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=528083#c3 for the workaround, but I thought 7025 contained the fix...

It's fixed in SVN, and I will update the openSUSE packages again tonight.

Just tested with 7025 on oS 11.1, it works as intended. Did you restart after updating to 7025?

Restarting didn't help. But after I removed .kde4/share/config/networkmanagementrc and the .kde4/share/apps/networkmanagement directory, it showed wireless again. Now it just crashes when I'm trying to use a vpn connection.

a workaround so you don't need to remove those files -

kwriteconfig --file networkmanagementrc --group SystemTray --key IconTypes_0 31
