Version: (using KDE 4.3.0) OS: Linux Installed from: SuSE RPMs My mother needs the ability to print out a basic summary list of people from her address book. She needs one line for each person. The print templates available basically print out all the information on a person, and only a few people fit on a page. Her address book is 3,000 people and growing, so a printout would take 1,000 pages. Ideally, I'd like a set template that is easy to use, and provides a basic summary with one line per contact. In addition, a custom printing option where you can specify which fields to print would be great. A common use case for her is that on Windows with her old proprietary address book, she would print out a group from her address book as a simple list. She would have a series of tasks for that list, such as calling everyone on that list. She could check people off that list with her printout.
This is basically the last thing keeping my mother dependent on Windows, and a proprietary address book solution that is no longer supported. I know you can argue that most people don't absolutely need to physically print out lists of contacts, but my mother really likes to operate off of physical lists she can check off. Could someone please create a template for printing out a simple list of contacts with one line per contact? Or perhaps even better, a customizable template for how many fields and lines you want? Thanks!
see bug 290438, its a possible solution for you mother
Mario's compact print style hopefully fits the need here. Will be available in KDE 4.9
