Description BRULE Herman 2009-08-05 03:12:35 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

Hello, my multiple monitor is detected in:
System Settings -> Computer Administration -> Display -> Size & Orientation
But no in:
System Settings -> Computer Administration -> Display -> Multiple Monitor
Thanks to fix it.

In "Display -> Size & Orientation" monitors are always visualized to be mirrored (above each others) and in normal orientation even though one would be rotated.
Using randr to rotate and set them side by side doesn't visualize correctly.

Multiple monitors detected
Comment 6 Tobias Hain 2009-10-07 12:58:30 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.2)
Installed from: Kubuntu 9.10 beta
graphics system: KMS + UXA intel X3100 graphics

Multiple Monitors are not detected by default. After issuing:
xrandr --output LVDS1 --right-of DVI1

multiple monitors are detected and GUI displays options. That's very annoying if the KDE built in tools for monitor/display configuration are not sufficient to switch between single and multi monitors setups.

In addition to
System Settings -> Computer Administration -> Display -> Multiple Monitor
also
KRandR has to be extended to allow drag and drop configuration of monitor and display deployment.

I'm convinced this bug is a duplicate of this older report:

Someone please mark this one as a dup and CC: users should vote for the other one.

Comment 9 Dario Andres 2010-01-20 21:07:20 UTC
From bug 223603:
---
Description of problem:

I have a Dell Dimension 8300 that runs both Mandriva Linux 2010.0 and Windows
XP Home Edition, and it has two monitors.

Graphics card: ATI RV280(Radeon 9200 PRO)
Monitor 1: BenQ T2210HD (DVI)
Monitor 2: Flatron W2042S (VGA)

In Windows the "Dual monitor" functions, so there should be no hardware
problem.

In Linux however, I only get the same picture on both monitors. The message in:
System settings - Display - Multiple monitors is: "This module is only for
configuring systems with a single desktop spread across multiple monitors. You
do not appear to have this configuration."
Comment 10 Martin Flöser 2012-04-14 21:29:31 UTC
As of 4.9 the configuration module "Multiple Monitor" does no longer exists which renders this bug as invalid.
