Version: desconocido (using 3.5.10, Kubuntu (hardy) 4:3.5.10-0ubuntu1~hardy1.1) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-24-generic Since some days, Kmail gets blocked when receiving some mails via POP3. It's really significant that these mails are always mail sent by me (from the same Kmail) and returned since they belong to a maillist and so on). I do captures with ngrep and realize that the full message is received by my host, but Kmail download progress bar is paused and the mail is never fetched. If I restart Kmail or the computer the same happens. the only solution is deleting that mail using other mail access (webmail for example). Note that it doesn't occur with all the mails sent and received by me.
can you check if that also happens with kmail from KDE 4.3 ? Also can you attach such a problematic mail (e.g. downloaded with a different client or webmail) ?
I attach a mail that is causing the problem right now. Of course, it's a mail sent from the same Kmail (from my account) to a maillist, and then it's received again via POP in Kmail. the attachment is a ngrep capture but as I said, the mails doesn't arrive to Kmail which gets blocked. If I delete that mail in the server then there is no more problem. About trying with KDE 4.3 I will try it as I use KDe 4.3 at home.
Created attachment 35956 [details] ngrep capture of a mail that Kmail cannot get
Not sure if it's the problem but if I'm reading the capture file correctly the mail does not conform to the RFC, it is not terminated by "CRLF.CRLF" but "CRLF .CRLF". Is there anything unique to these mails (transport wise)? If this is the issue I'm not sure how KMail should be able to handle it.
Is this still an issue? Any updates?
I couldn't reproduce it in Kmail under KDE 4. But please let me 1-2 weeks more, I'll test it further.
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2. We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
