Add sea names legend to marble, so it would look something like here:

Original post was to add sea names to marble - seems that this can be solved by adding integration with geonames.org service. This is a huge database of geolocation names including country names, ocean names and seanames which is available under Creative Commons license. All names are available under multiple languages and also have geolocation info attached (lon/lat or even bounds for reverse geocoding). All info is available for online queries or as downloadable db dump. I think integration with geonames.org might be a big step forward for marble.

For example, search results for "Mediterranean Sea":

Hmm, I'm not sure what you mean. Do you suggest to show labels from geonames.org in Marble, similar to the labels in the "Satellite View" map theme?

I just mean a big set of objects with lat/lng values and multilingual names available in geonames.org database.

For example, if I zoom out in marble - I see continent and countries labels, if I zoom closer - I can see some cities inside the countries, if I zoom in even more closer - I see more city names inside some country.

I'm not sure where they all are coming from, but they are all objects at least with name + lat/lng values. Geonames.org database provides much more geo objects than I can currently see on Marble (more cities, rivers, lakes, mountains, objects inside cities etc). So my suggestion is that objects from geonames.org database could be somehow shown on Marble globe too.

As far as I understand, this database is open under free license, so I think this could be rather logical integration. They also have some public web services to retrieve data from the database copy on their server, but the whole data can be downloaded and imported in some 3pty server database too.

All those objects are shown not only in Satellite view, but also in all other Marble Earth views as I can see.
