Version:           kubuntu 9.04 (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

If you have a printer installed, you can go to it's configuration and press the "Print Test Page" button.  The caption on that button changes to "Cancel Tests", but does not change back until the systemssettings app is restarted.

System Settings > Advanced tab > Printer Configuration > [choose a printer] > press "Print Test Page"
