Description the_shark 2009-07-26 11:49:19 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Slackware Packages

The problem comes when I put my laptop on standby and than I remove my power cable.

On the resume if the cable is not plugged in everything is working, but when I plug it I see only the kdm background and the mouse. Everything is still working, and when I move the cursor it change as usual (like when I put it into the konsole window it changes), and I can also type things and do stuffs, but I cannot see anything.

When I unplug the power cable again all my desktop returns back and I can work normally.

Very similar issue here - if I haven't used the computer in a while (ie. screen-saver is running) and change the "plugged-in" state of my laptop I sometimes get a black screen with only the mouse pointer showing, which I can move. Other times it crashes with a completely black screen and no pointer and I can't revive it.

crashing on AC plug/unplug (probably in the battery); pretty old report at this point. would need a backtrace from a recent (4.4 or newer) version

Closing for lack of feedback.
