Version: (using KDE 4.2.98) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages The names in the buddy list are not encoded properly. As a picture says more than a thousand words: https://files.getdropbox.com/u/175461/kopete-character-encoding.png.
Created attachment 36074 [details] Kopete cannot encode "Ö" (in this case) I've recently understood that outside links are not preferred, so I'm attaching the same image I've linked to here.
Attachments are better because then the data is preserved when coming back to the bug after some time. Does this only occur with the Bonjour protocol?
I'm not sure if this is only with the Bonjour protocol as that's the only protocol I've been using for a while. I'll post back if I find out more about it. I don't know if this is useful information, but I've noticed that I can manually edit the name and include the "Ö" which then shows up fine. But I need to do that every time that person logs off and back on.
I used to have this problem, too, but now with 4.4.1, receiving a bonjour message has worked for the first time! So maybe this is finally fixed in 4.4.1.
