Version: (using KDE 4.2.4) OS: Linux Installed from: Unspecified Linux KDE is all about innovation. So, why not innovate with file management? A visual folder hierarchy would be a smooth, easy and modern way to browse files, with visual links to other files. A mockup is provided here; http://www.gnome-look.org/content/preview.php?preview=1&id=71112&file1=71112-1.jpg&file2=&file3=&name=Future+File+Management+Mockup Imagine that the window smoothly slid over to other files...sorry, am I drooling? :P Please consider it. -Dante
The idea is graphically cool, but I cant' imagine with more than 5-10 subfolder... anyway is really interesting (think about the new touchscreen/minority-report technologies)
Something like it would be very nice. Instead of just having windows displaing files, you could zoom in (or be automatically zoomed to a certain location)
Created attachment 49985 [details] Screenshot I've attached an alternative mockup or screenshot that implements the same basic idea in a more compact format.
Here's a thought, in the original mockup from GNOME-Look, the file browser itself was equipped with a meta-data downloader. Could dolphin be given a similar function? (Applying cover art to album directories, cover art for book files, etc?)
Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719
Doesn't seem all that practical, I'm sorry to say.
