Description Dante Ashton 2009-07-18 17:15:26 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Unspecified Linux

I request that Dolphin be given the abilty to auto-organize files by metadata, type of file, etc.

Document files would go into the Documents folder, where they could be grouped by creation date. When NEPOMUK and Scribo start to mature, it should be possible to group documents by topic or Author.

Pictures could again be grouped by the time they were taken, or by what camera took them.

Music could be grouped by artist/album.

Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719

Moving a user's files automatically would provoke reactions ranging from confusion to panic and outrage, and then finally to outright pandemonium.

The All Documents and All Pictures search items in the Places panel can already provide this grouping without actually moving anything around, and the lists in there can be sorted by whatever criteria you want.
