Can you reproduce the crash with any module (summary, Mail, etc...) or with a particular one ?

Also, what do you call "welcome frame" ? the 'tip of the day' window that pops up at startup ?
Comment 2 Fabian B. 2009-07-18 00:59:50 UTC
kmail, akregator and all the others works without this bug
welcome frame is the overview, the first icon in the left list
Comment 3 Radu Benea 2009-07-18 14:39:19 UTC
considering the tip of the day as the welcome screen I can't reproduce this with current svn version Kontact
Version 4.3.0 rc2

build less than 24 hours ago
Comment 4 Stephen Dunn 2009-07-20 02:29:53 UTC
Version of the application: 4.3.0 rc2
4.2.96 (KDE 4.2.96 (KDE 4.3 RC2)) "release 142"
Qt Version: 4.5.2
OS: Linux 2.6.27.23-0.1-default i686
System: openSUSE 11.1 (i586)

I cannot reproduce
Comment 5 Fabian B. 2009-07-20 15:22:22 UTC
sorry.. I have moved my ~/.kde to .kde-backup and the bug is gone. but if I use my 4.2.4 or 4.3Beta *backup so kontact crash here
Comment 6 Christophe Marin 2009-11-16 16:01:20 UTC
I tried hard to reproduce (with different kontact parts loaded, with or without the welcome screen displayed. So far, I didn't get any crash.

Please reopen if you experience this crash with KDE 4.4 (with a screenshot before the crash so that we're absolutely sure we're talking about the same things).
