With digiKam >= 0.10.0, we support XMP. tags path is now saved in XMP digiKam namespace. IPTC keywordsdo not host full tags path but only tag names. Why ? Because XMP is more POWERFULL than IPTC. UTF-8, no stings size limitation, etc... IPTC schema is also ported to XMP. In other words : IPTC become obsolete and is replaced by XMP. That all... Gilles Caulier
one more time it's obsolete for you, Adobe, professionals etc. who uses Adobe suite at home ? and with linux ? it is not obsolete for many Mr John and many freewares (yes not professional ones) in my case picasaweb
Hey I thought the hierarchy of meta data was gone and was going to report a bug, when I read this report. To add a comment: If someone else is thinking the same like I did, simply switch between "human-readable list" and "complete list" in the XMP view. If you have added meta tags with a beta version of digikam, you should rewrite the meta data into your photos (select from the menu) in order to save the hierarchy. @Philippe: Hopefully other freewares are going to upgrate to XMP Regards
