Version: unknown (using 4.2.3 (KDE 4.2.3), MinGW 3.4.5) Compiler: gcc.exe OS: Microsoft Windows (i686) release 5.1 (XP Professional) When I use Default as mail program Thunderbird is open with a new message but no images are attached. I have tried to look in the code an it looks like this option uses the mailto-url. Thunderbird and most other (if not all) mail programs ignores the attached part of a mailto-url for security reasons. If I instead uses Thunderbird as mail program direct it fails with 'Failed to start "thunderbird" program. Check your system.' On Windows one can not assume that all programs are in the path. One possible solution would be to offer the user the possibility to find the program explicitly with a file dialog.
I have tried to get this working. The attached patch lets me send images using Thunderbird. There might be a better way of doing this but this is a start.
