Description Christophe Prud'homme 2009-07-13 08:42:09 UTC
Version: 1.11.4 (using 4.2.4 (KDE 4.2.4), Debian packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.30-1-amd64

I manage my emails using disconnected imap. I moved them around either by hands or using filters.
Say that some emails, marked unread, were moved using the filter
it stays unread in kmail in the proper folder.
Now I want to synchronize the local folder with the server folder then kmail uploads the emails and marks them _as read_ which is not the expected behavior.

I consider this a bug, kmail should not decide by itself if the email state should be changed.

Do you need more info ? this is 100% reproducible with an imap server(say gmail.com or free.fr)

Best regards
C.

I have to make an amendment to my previous email.

With imap.free.fr the emails are not marked as read when uploading them to the server.

They are marked as read however when I use the google imap server.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
