Description Martin Senftleben 2009-07-12 20:12:22 UTC
Version: 0.10.0 (using KDE 4.2.96)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

I noticed that, when I import pictures from a SD-card and select conversion into a lossless file format (i.e. *.png), the creation date of the pictures is changed to the date and time of the import. This doesn't happen with RAW-format files (dng) which are imported simultaneously. So I have two images (1.png and 1.dng) which have different creation dates. The creation-date is untouched when I import as jpg, i.e. the format which the image is also on the card.
In my opinion, only the change-date should be set to the date and time of the import (and format conversion), but not the picture creation date.

Testing with current 1.0 trunk I cannot confirm this. A bug has been fixed in this area recently where the creation date of images in the camera download dialog was wrong, but I dont think this was affecting your situation.

Can you test with a recent 1.0beta version?
Alternatively, can you test with a fake camera (Import -> Cameras(Add) -> Add Camera; Add; Click on mounted camera; specify a directory on disk in which you put a JPEG to test; Choose your fake camera, select the JPEG with your download settings, download, check the dates)

I confirm too that pb is fixed with 2.x release.

I close this file...
