Version: (using KDE 4.2.4) OS: Linux Installed from: Mandriva RPMs Kickety is an useful game requested by a lot of end users. - it is useful for children and old people who discover the usage of a mouse. - it is a good strategy game, easy to play, and having the advantage on kmine to get a score instead of a crash. - it is a quick played game, perhaps the quickest! It can be used when people have a very short time to play.
IIRC Klickety was dropped from KDE Games because it had no maintainer and the library it depended on had no maintainer, so there was nobody available to port it to KDE 4 and Qt 4. At the time (also IIRC) it was noted that KSame is a very similar game and KSame *was* ported to KDE 4. The main differences between Klickety and KSame are the board dimensions and the number of colors, although the playing experience (look and feel) is quite different IMHO. I remember doing a very hackish test to show that KSame with the same board dimensions and number of colors as Klickety could indeed give me a Klickety-like experience, but with a different scoring scheme (unimportant IMO). IIRC it was suggested on the KDE Games list that, after 4.0 sometime, KSame should be enhanced with a Klickety-like option, but this has never happened. I too would like to see Klickety return in some way, shape or form, so perhaps I should post a wishlist item against KSame?
Hi, I plan to rewrite Klickety for KDE4. Maybe my new Klickety can be in a good shape before KDE 4.6. After some major features have been finished, I will commit my work to playground/games. ;)
hi my work has been hosted at http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/playground/games/klickety/ feel free~
Done. :) ... (for KDE 4.6)
