Description Christian Hans 2009-07-12 02:34:26 UTC
Version: 2.2.4 (using KDE 4.2.4)
Compiler: GCC 4.3.3-r2
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

This is not really a bug, but quite annoying. I am using Gwenview with the German localization. When viewing images with the right sidebar switched on you can't read the ISO speed directly, because the German translation for ISO speed is unnecessary long. Here's a example:

When using the English localization everything is fine, because it's just "ISO", so it doesn't take much space.

Solution: Change German translation to "ISO". This should be enough.

Strange.
Here in 4.2.4 on Debian I only have the String "ISO Speed Ratings:" and "ISO Speed Mode:" there, in stable translation (4.3) I only see "ISO Speed".
"ISO Geschwindigkeitsangabe" does not exist anymore.
"ISO Speed" is currently translated as "ISO-Empfindlichkeit".

Is that too long? Can we change that? Do we want to? The sidebar can be resized by dragging the mouse, so before using a wrong or inacurate translation on purpose, we could just leave it as is.

I installed KDE 4.3 and it seems that the bug has already been fixed.

Gwenview displays now dots inside too long descriptions, so that the right column is also readable with small sidebars.
