Description SlashDevDsp 2009-07-10 03:55:37 UTC
Version:            (using Devel)
Compiler:          g++ 4.3
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Compiled sources

when the network is offline and I try
right click->Desktop settings -> get new wallpapers or New Theme
I get the get hot new stuff window with a error dialog 'cannot connect to data sources', this dialog disables the panel and plasma widgets (meaning I can't click on the panel kmenu/taskbar etc) - greyed out, this should not be the desired behaviour when network is offline. The error dialog should not disable input to panel or other widgets

Would be a bug with KNS itself, I would think, since the only dialog that Plasma explicitly makes is the KNS dialog itself. (That dialog makes the modal error dialog)

fixed in KDE 4.5 by not showing the error message as dialog any more but in the dialog itself in the status area

wow, I totally forgot about this, luckily there is bko and thanks for the fix. I will check it out :)
