Version: (using Devel) OS: Linux Installed from: Compiled sources Kmail with several POP accounts delivering into local folders. I leaved KDE session (without closing KMail first, but usually I do not do it). On restart KMail entered endless loop with message "index for folder trash is corrupted and will be recreated". Confirming with OK brings the same message again. I attach "grep kmail" from xsession-errors and trash index file and contents.

Created attachment 35163 [details] kmail startup log OK trash content is too big; let me know if this is required.
I have the same endless loop. Maybe it will stop after x times I click on "Ok" but I already clicked the dialog away 10 times now. The dialog text is: "The mail index for 'debian' is corrupted and will be regenerated now, but some information, including status flags, will be lost". It's fine by me, just start regenerate and start up my kmail so I can check my emails. I just killed the kmail process and start kmail again. Emails in the 'debian' folder are present so I guess the regeneration was successful. That is KMail 1.13.6; KDE 4.6.2; Fedora 14.
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2. We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
