Description Krzysztof Nowicki 2009-07-06 12:11:49 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Compiler: vc90
OS: MS Windows
Installed from: Compiled sources

Dolphin crashes when I try to launch it. Windows pinpoints the crash to solid.dll, offset 0x00043235 (EIP: 0x01a73235).

An exactly the same crash happens also when launching KRunner or Gwenview.

Doing a fresh installation and removing the Application Data/.kde directory doesn't help.

I'm using Windows XP SP3.

I can confirm (Windows XP SP3), various crashes (plasma-desktop, gwenview) appear since the update to 4.2.95, while other applications (konqueror, kwrite, juk) start up normally.
Some detail: okular works, but crashes (also for solid.dll) when I try to open a file dialogue. So does konqueror, but only if I use the KDE file dialogue - while the native Windows dialogue works.
In the taskamanger I can see about ten or a dozen instances of Kwalletmanager open, although I didn't start it and I don't know, which program did.

It looks like the recent update to kdelibs-4.2.95-1 fixed the problem. After installing it I can't see any more crashes with Dolphin, Gwenview or others.
