Description Janet 2009-07-05 17:04:48 UTC
Version: KDE 4.3 RC (4.2.95) (using KDE 4.2.90)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I'm not quite sure if kfile is the right component to report. In Dolphin and in the folderviews I can select for which files previews will be shown. There is one entry which is called just "M". Looks like an imcomplete name. German translation here, so maybe not available in other languages?
Comment 1 FiNeX 2009-07-06 14:15:37 UTC
It could be a translation problem.
Comment 2 Thomas Reitelbach 2009-08-03 23:08:50 UTC
It seems to be a translation problem.
But I'm unable to find the corresponding string in our KDE translation files. This might be an Ubuntu translation problem?!

Please, Janet, could you explain to which file assoziation/file type does this "M" belong to? I need your help to identify the wrong string.

Thank you for your help.
Thomas
Comment 3 Janet 2009-08-05 05:00:08 UTC
I'm sorry, by now I really don't have any clue which file type the "M" might belong to. The entry is located between "JPEG" and "Ordner".
Comment 4 Thomas Reitelbach 2009-08-05 09:12:59 UTC
Please use konqueror to view the file types (Einstellungen -> Konqueror einrichten -> Dateizuordnungen)
Then find the "M" filetype in the list and click on it.
To the right you'll see the file extension for "M" and which application is used to open this file type. Does this help?
Comment 5 Janet 2009-08-05 12:16:39 UTC
Sorry, there is no M filetype.
Comment 6 Thomas Reitelbach 2009-08-05 16:03:20 UTC
Hm, could you provide a screenshot of the bug?

I suspect that I didn't understand the problem ;-)

I have the same problem with KDE 4.3 (final) and Arch Linux (kdemod/chakra).

Thank you for your screenshots, this was really helpful!
It's a translation bug and I'll fix it immediately.

Can you please re-fix it? It has happened again. KDE 4.5.1 here.
Comment 12 Frederik Schwarzer 2010-10-26 10:59:18 UTC
I fixed it about a month ago for the bug 252497, should be fixed in 4.5.2 and trunk now.

It seems as if last time it was fixed for the 4.3 branch only.
