Description Guido Schmidt 2009-07-05 11:47:26 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

I'm using KDE 4.3rc1, an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro Graphics Adapter with radeon driver, compositing is on (a bit slow, but it works), the taskbar is located on the top screen and is maximized.

Using krandrtray I switched from the default resolution (1900x1200) to 1280x800. Everything worked fine. I shut down the PC.

When I logged in next time the desktop came up with default resolution at first, then switched to the lower one previously selected. The taskbar got correctly reduced in size fitting the actual screen, but after some seconds the taskbar seemed to restore to the large resolution, because all stuff on the right side (clock, tray symbols) disappeared. The upper half of the screen did not update anymore, the lower half was slooow and seemed to be uncomplete (maybe I did not wait long enough).

I could not find a way to restore the default resolution yet, due to the unusable desktop. I'd suggest reactivating the old shortcuts for changing resolution <ctrl>-<alt>-<+> and <ctrl>-<alt>-<->.

Comment 3 Nicolas L. 2010-06-07 09:43:33 UTC
Do you reproduce with kde 4.4.4 or 4.5 beta ?
Comment 4 Guido Schmidt 2010-06-25 10:49:29 UTC
Using Nvidia graphics and KDE 4.4.4 now I can not reproduce this behavior. Krandr switched to the default resolution after relogin.
