Hi,
when I logout, reboot or shutdown, the confirmation screen should desaturate the desktop, but instead the desktop turns black, leaving the confirmation window as the only visible thing

this is only happening on my laptop....on my desktop is working fine
Comment 2 Sordon 2009-08-16 11:42:04 UTC
I have the same effect on my laptop. The laptop has a Intel Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller and compositing is activated and working. I'm using the xserver-xorg-video-intel driver in version 2.8. KDE is version 4.3.0 on a Debian Sid system.
Comment 3 Miguel Tadeu 2009-09-05 17:45:07 UTC
still happening on kde4.3.1

I hit this bug on my laptop, too (Gentoo, intel graphics). Just now I noticed that the desaturate effect actually works correctly if I _uncheck_ "Logout" in systemsettings.

happens on my kubuntu laptop, too. It's an Intel Mobile 4 Series graphics card. Other compositing effects work very well.

Looks solved to me, using kde 4.5.5...feel free to reopen if any problems show up.
