Description Bryan Bankester 2009-07-04 05:00:02 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
Compiler: gcc version 4.3.3 Ubuntu 4.3.3-5ubuntu4
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

When I click Sleep/Suspend to RAM, a black screen appears with a blinking cursor in the top left corner. The computer keeps roaring, and the black screen with the blinking cursor does not go away. No key I've found will allow me to exit this screen, so I always have to reach down and press the restart button on the computer. I used to not have this problem putting Kubuntu to sleep each night. I'm using Kubuntu Jaunty AMD64 and 2.6.28-13-generic.

Did you also change your kernel or some acpi related scripts (pm-utils) in the meantime? If yes it'll be really hard to determine if the problem is in the distro or in KDE code.

Marking as NEEDSINFO

I hope this sorted itself out at some point! Closing as it's been in NEEDINFO for quite a while but please re-open if you still have a problem.
