Do you get some error message? Or just no video/audio output at all? (As a workaround you could try with a different player like VLC or SMPlayer) Thanks
You should looks for user supported at the Ubuntu forums as this seems to be a problem related to Kubuntu (the message about installing "codecs" to be able to reproduce some types of media).
