Version: (using KDE 4.2.4) OS: Linux Installed from: Gentoo Packages One of the strong points of kde is kioslave file access (copy from a ftp to an ssh session, from an http to a ftp and so on). Many application in kde tree still don't use kio for file read/write. I.e. kwalletmanager import/export, kdiff and so on. I think an application which doesn't coherently integrate in kde should be updated or deleted from tree.
If a KDE application does not use kioslaves, either a) it is a bug b) there could be reasons to not do it If you think the case is a) for an application, report a bug for that application. Blind removing is not helpful nor solves problems.
