Version: (using Devel) OS: Linux Installed from: Compiled sources I update from KDE 4.3 beta 2 to KDE 4.3 RC on my kubuntu. Then I noticed plasma-desktop used unexpectabily 40-60% of CPU charge. As said on ubuntu forum I erase all plasma configuration files. I reboot my computer which restart normally. When KDE finished to load, I had this crash. I had this message : Application: Plasma Workspace (kdeinit4), signal: Segmentation fault [Current thread is 0 (LWP 4029)] Thread 2 (Thread 0xa821eb90 (LWP 4034)): #0 0xb7f28430 in __kernel_vsyscall () #1 0xb63ef0e5 in pthread_cond_wait@@GLIBC_2.3.2 () from /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libpthread.so.0 #2 0xb65cf2ed in pthread_cond_wait () from /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6 #3 0xb7d229b2 in QWaitCondition::wait (this=0x9746fb0, mutex=0x9746fac, time=4294967295) at thread/qwaitcondition_unix.cpp:87 #4 0xb765e152 in QHostInfoAgent::run (this=0x9746fa0) at kernel/qhostinfo.cpp:260 #5 0xb7d2196e in QThreadPrivate::start (arg=0x9746fa0) at thread/qthread_unix.cpp:189 #6 0xb63eb4ff in start_thread () from /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libpthread.so.0 #7 0xb65c049e in clone () from /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6 Thread 1 (Thread 0xb5ef9a10 (LWP 4029)): [KCrash Handler] #6 0xb6ed3a9a in QGraphicsItem::isWidget (this=0x9d32df8) at graphicsview/qgraphicsitem.cpp:1145 #7 0xb6f09b27 in QGraphicsScene::event (this=0x90c66e8, event=0xbfb45720) at graphicsview/qgraphicsscene.cpp:3703 #8 0xb68a5e9c in QApplicationPrivate::notify_helper (this=0x8ffb0a8, receiver=0x90c66e8, e=0xbfb45720) at kernel/qapplication.cpp:4084 #9 0xb68ae19e in QApplication::notify (this=0x8ff5288, receiver=0x90c66e8, e=0xbfb45720) at kernel/qapplication.cpp:3631 #10 0xb73e03dd in KApplication::notify (this=0x8ff5288, receiver=0x90c66e8, event=0xbfb45720) at /build/buildd/kde4libs-4.2.95/kdeui/kernel/kapplication.cpp:302 #11 0xb7e15a3b in QCoreApplication::notifyInternal (this=0x8ff5288, receiver=0x90c66e8, event=0xbfb45720) at kernel/qcoreapplication.cpp:602 #12 0xb6f1a1c5 in QGraphicsView::viewportEvent (this=0x9890198, event=0xbfb45720) at ../../include/QtCore/../../src/corelib/kernel/qcoreapplication.h:213 #13 0xb6d78f55 in QAbstractScrollAreaFilter::eventFilter (this=0x98c4950, o=0x988eda0, e=0xbfb45720) at widgets/qabstractscrollarea_p.h:100 #14 0xb7e14c5a in QCoreApplicationPrivate::sendThroughObjectEventFilters (this=0x8ffb0a8, receiver=0x988eda0, event=0xbfb45720) at kernel/qcoreapplication.cpp:718 #15 0xb68a5e7a in QApplicationPrivate::notify_helper (this=0x8ffb0a8, receiver=0x988eda0, e=0xbfb45720) at kernel/qapplication.cpp:4080 #16 0xb68ae282 in QApplication::notify (this=0x8ff5288, receiver=0x988eda0, e=0xbfb45720) at kernel/qapplication.cpp:4049 #17 0xb73e03dd in KApplication::notify (this=0x8ff5288, receiver=0x988eda0, event=0xbfb45720) at /build/buildd/kde4libs-4.2.95/kdeui/kernel/kapplication.cpp:302 #18 0xb7e15a3b in QCoreApplication::notifyInternal (this=0x8ff5288, receiver=0x988eda0, event=0xbfb45720) at kernel/qcoreapplication.cpp:602 #19 0xb68fc61d in QWidget::event (this=0x9890198, event=0xbfb45720) at ../../include/QtCore/../../src/corelib/kernel/qcoreapplication.h:213 #20 0xb6cd6993 in QFrame::event (this=0x9890198, e=0xbfb45720) at widgets/qframe.cpp:559 #21 0xb6d7744d in QAbstractScrollArea::event (this=0x9890198, e=0xbfb45720) at widgets/qabstractscrollarea.cpp:918 #22 0xb6f19ff6 in QGraphicsView::event (this=0x9890198, event=0xbfb45720) at graphicsview/qgraphicsview.cpp:2854 #23 0xb68a5e9c in QApplicationPrivate::notify_helper (this=0x8ffb0a8, receiver=0x9890198, e=0xbfb45720) at kernel/qapplication.cpp:4084 #24 0xb68ae282 in QApplication::notify (this=0x8ff5288, receiver=0x9890198, e=0xbfb45720) at kernel/qapplication.cpp:4049 #25 0xb73e03dd in KApplication::notify (this=0x8ff5288, receiver=0x9890198, event=0xbfb45720) at /build/buildd/kde4libs-4.2.95/kdeui/kernel/kapplication.cpp:302 #26 0xb7e15a3b in QCoreApplication::notifyInternal (this=0x8ff5288, receiver=0x9890198, event=0xbfb45720) at kernel/qcoreapplication.cpp:602 #27 0xb68acd9e in QApplication::setActiveWindow (act=0x9890198) at ../../include/QtCore/../../src/corelib/kernel/qcoreapplication.h:216 #28 0xb691c56c in QApplication::x11ProcessEvent (this=0x8ff5288, event=0xbfb45c1c) at kernel/qapplication_x11.cpp:3462 #29 0xb6947c6a in x11EventSourceDispatch (s=0x8ffde70, callback=0, user_data=0x0) at kernel/qguieventdispatcher_glib.cpp:146 #30 0xb6438b88 in g_main_context_dispatch () from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 #31 0xb643c0eb in ?? This is probably a Qt bug: bug 185468 libqt 4.5.0-ubuntu4.1 Well in fact, the whole desktop crashed few second before coming back few seconds later. Not just one applet. For me it's not the same bug but I'm not a specialist.
