Were you running Plasma/all the desktop during an extended period of time on the session you get this error?
THanks
Comment 2 Jaxxed 2009-07-07 22:17:56 UTC
Yes I was running the desktop for a period longer than five days, resumed maybe two or three times during that period.

This problem lasted for a week or so for me, and then just disappeared.

I use kmail with gmail via IMAP for a couple of accounts, I used the accounts via webmail for a perdiod, until kmail corrected itself.

(not sure if it's relevant kmail is the only kontact unit that was crashing)
Comment 3 Dario Andres 2009-07-07 22:23:30 UTC
According to that backtrace and trhe description you probably were suffereing the bug about Plasma not freeing the X Pixmaps so it got out of them and it should crashed with that backtrace.
That bug got fixed recently on Plasma code, so it shouldn't happen again (if it is indeed the same bug)

Could you try to update your KDE version and reproduce the crash scenario ?
Thanks!
Comment 4 Jaxxed 2009-07-08 21:12:56 UTC
I was running the beta of 4.3, now running 4.3rc1.

I cannot recreate the bug, despite being operationaly continuously for a long period of time.

Feel free to mark the bug resolved.
