Description Salvatore LaFata 2009-07-01 12:39:16 UTC
Version: kpackagekit-0.3.1-2.922951mdv2009.1.rpm (using KDE 4.2.2)
Compiler: gcc-4.3.2-3mnb2
OS: Linux
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs

There really is nothing to it. When I log in to my computer, the KDE Daemon automatically runs and crashes. There is no interaction that I need to do except log in.

I thought this was a similar issue to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=165548, but the response I received was:

@Salvatore LaFata: your crash is a different one. Please file a new bug report
against the "kpackagekit" product in this bugtracker. Thanks.

I am attaching the KCrash report.

I really need to know what version of PackageKit, packagekit-qt, and KPackageKit are you using, without it I can't start guess what is that..
Thanks

Comment 5 Daniel Nicoletti 2009-07-01 14:32:19 UTC
Ok, the bug is found. KpackageKit 0.3.1 can't work with PackageKit 0.4.
Please Upgrade you Kpacagekit to >= 0.4.1.
Comment 6 Salvatore LaFata 2009-07-01 14:56:40 UTC
Great! That version is not available in the Contrib repository for Mandriva yet, so I guess I'll have to wait. Thanks.
Comment 7 Salvatore LaFata 2009-07-01 15:38:11 UTC
I found it in the Cooker (development) repositories. I will let you know my findings after installation, logging out and logging back in.
Comment 8 Salvatore LaFata 2009-07-01 15:51:13 UTC
Looks like that fixed the issue. Thanks to all. This "bug" can be closed.
Comment 9 Daniel Nicoletti 2009-07-01 16:13:08 UTC
ok, thanks. I already did close it.
