Description Kanwar Plaha 2009-06-29 03:03:02 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

My work email setup uses an IMAP-based server. Kmail hangs (no response) when "New message" icon is clicked on the toolbar or File->New->New Message... is chosen from the menu.

I have noticed it across distributions.

The same behaviour (hang) is noticed when trying to forward an existing message.

The only thing that works is Reply/Reply All. Although I use this as a workaround, its very annoying having the email client hang when trying to compose a new email.

Just want to confirm that I am hitting this bug after the 4.3.0 release as well.

I'm experiencing this problem with 4.4.2 - seems like it came back. @Kanwar Plaha how does that look for you? You still using 4.4.0?
Please reopen this bug!

@Ron: I have upgrade to KDE 4.5.1 and Kmail 4.4.6. Fortunately, this bug no longer exists!

Might be worth upgrading to 4.5.x.

I'm running KDE 4.4.2 and Kontact 4.4.2 I should consider an upgarde then...
